Binance.US has announced that it will be delisting Helium (HNT) and JasmyCoin (JASMY) tokens from its platform starting March 21. Users of the cryptocurrency exchange will no longer be able to access these tokens on the platform.

Binance.US has decided to delist Helium (HNT) and JasmyCoin (JASMY) tokens from its platform, effective from March 21. This decision was made after an in-depth review of existing assets. Binance.US’s decision to delist HNT trading pairs may be related to Helium’s migration to Solana.

Helium (HNT) Foundation

The Helium Foundation expressed their disappointment with Binance.US’s decision to delist HNT tokens, but they will continue to communicate with the exchange to inform them of the network’s goals and future growth plans. The Helium team plans to encourage users to regain control of their HNT through the free, open-source Helium Wallet app, or by switching to one of the more than 20 platforms that still support HNT trading pairs.

Helium Foundation COO Scott Sigel had strongly protested Binance’s decision.

Unfortunately, Binance’s actions not only harm our community but also violate the principles of trust and openness that we hold dear. Delisting HNT was not necessary, nor was it the right decision. We want to make it clear that our commitment to our mission and our community is unwavering, and we remain steadfast in our belief that an open, transparent network is the best way to build the future of decentralized wireless connectivity.”

Helium’s commitment to the switch to Solana was emphasized as it would dramatically accelerate the network’s usefulness, according to the company. The migration is also expected to help focus more resources on achieving the objective of providing a cost-effective communication layer for all users and gadgets.

It’s worth noting that after the migration to Solana, the Helium app plans to support native subDAO token redemption, along with other integrations within Solana’s DeFi platform. This move is expected to expand the decentralized exchange platforms available for HNT users.

It is worth noting that this is not the first time that Binance has delisted HNT tokens from its platform. Last October, the platform (not the US unit) removed the cross-isolated margin and spot trading pairs for HNT and BUSD.
