On March 10th, Brave, the privacy-focused web browser in the crypto industry, introduced a new feature that allows users to both buy and sell supported cryptocurrencies directly from their wallet. This means that users can now exchange their tokens for several fiat currencies, such as USD, EUR, and GBP.
Indeed, Brave’s new feature makes self-custody simpler for its users, allowing them to easily buy and sell cryptocurrencies without having to export them out of the wallet. This feature aligns with the principles of the crypto industry, which values user ownership and control over their funds. With this new move, Brave is making it easier for its users to maintain self-custody of their cryptocurrencies, ensuring that they remain in control of their assets.

By introducing this feature, Brave has eliminated the need for users to export their cryptocurrencies out of the wallet when they want to sell them and withdraw the money. This saves both time and money that would have been spent on transaction fees, enabling users to maximize their profits.

This new feature also allows users to maintain ownership of their funds through self-custody, which has always been one of the major selling points of the crypto industry. Over the years, centralized exchanges have dominated the crypto world by offering various features, and many have forgotten the old adage “not your keys, not your coins.” However, the recent collapses of FTX, Celsius, and similar companies have reminded the community of the importance of being in control of their own cryptocurrencies.
Brave new feature available in selected countries
Brave has made this new feature available to users in select countries, enabling them to sell their cryptocurrencies for fiat directly from their wallet. The feature supports a range of cryptocurrencies, including popular ones like Ethereum, Solana, and USD Coin, as well as Brave’s own native token, Basic Attention Token (BAT). In total, users can sell 38 different cryptocurrencies directly from their Brave Browser wallet. This new feature is a significant step forward for Brave, as it makes it easier for users to access and manage their cryptocurrency assets.
Wallet Supports 38 different cryptocurrencies
Brave prioritizes user experience by adding the ability to directly sell cryptocurrencies from its wallet, which supports 38 different cryptocurrencies. With recent scandals in centralized exchanges, Brave expects users to shift away from them and towards self-custody. Brave’s privacy-oriented browser launched in 2016, allowing users to block advertisements and earn rewards through its Basic Attention Token. Brave partnered with Ramp in May 2022, allowing users to buy crypto with fiat in its wallet.
